I was the first lawyer I ever knew.
I was the first lawyer I ever knew. I went to college as an engineering student and received a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering. In my senior year of college I realized that I did not want to work as a Ceramic Engineer, but I did want to use my engineering degree. I decided to attend law school to become a Patent Attorney. Georgetown Law Center in Washington, D.C. provided that opportunity. However, upon graduation I took a position as a staff attorney for Alaska Legal Sevices Corporation in Juneau, Alaska providing free legal assistance in civil matters to low income clients.
